Skegness Community Diagnostic Centre is one of two new community centres built by MTX concurrently in Skegness and Lincoln using modern methods of construction.

To create the new facility, 29 precisely engineered structural steel modules were factory-manufactured offsite while groundworks were under way onsite to create the foundations onsite. Work progressed at a rapid pace to fit out and equip the state-of-the-art facility for its specialist role.

The project utilised the latest heat pump technology, combined with an upgraded building fabric, to reduce its operational carbon. Mechanical and electrical services were manufactured as modules where appropriate to speed up the construction process and reduce costs.

The centre has brought a number of NHS diagnostic services to the town for the first time, including state-of-the art CT and MRI scanners, echocardiograms and dental X-ray and non-obstetric ultrasound.

Designed to meet specific local health needs, the centre is set to enhance community care and reduce waiting lists as part of the NHS CDC Programme - providing quicker, easier access to vital diagnostic services.

MTX exceeded our expectations in the Pre-Construction Phase and now delivery of two Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) at Skegness and Lincoln Hospitals. The combined value of both projects was approximately £15m & £23m respectively, and the team managed the pre-construction element simultaneously to enable a smooth start on site. Their pre-construction planning, rapid mobilisation, and project management skills have set a new benchmark for our future projects.
