Lincoln Community Diagnostic Centre is one of two new community centres built by MTX concurrently in Lincoln and Skegness using modern methods of construction. To create the new facility, 42 precisely engineered structural steel modules were factory manufactured offsite while groundworks progressed, enabling faster, safer, greener, more cost-effective delivery. Work progressed at a rapid pace to fit out and equip the state-of-the-art facility for its specialist role.
The project utilised the latest heat pump technology, combined with an upgraded building fabric, to reduce its operational carbon. Mechanical and electrical services were manufactured as modules where appropriate to speed up the construction process and reduce costs.
Located on Lincoln Science and Innovation Park , the centre offers a range of diagnostic services, including X-ray, MRI, CT and non-obstetric ultrasound. It has dedicated facilities to support the training of future radiographers, with ULTH becoming one of the first NHS Trusts in the country to link directly with a school of radiography at the University of Lincoln.
Providing patients with quicker, more accessible diagnostic services, this facility reduces waiting times, enhances patient experience and outcomes, and delivers a modern healthcare solution that directly meets specific local health needs.
MTX exceeded our expectations in the Pre-Construction Phase and now delivery of two Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) at Skegness and Lincoln Hospitals. The combined value of both projects was approximately £15m & £23m respectively, and the team managed the pre-construction element simultaneously to enable a smooth start on site. Their pre-construction planning, rapid mobilisation, and project management skills have set a new benchmark for our future projects.
