MTX design and install a new Endoscopy Unit for George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.
The new facility is being constructed using modular techniques, providing endoscopy and bronchoscopy treatment rooms, decontamination and clean areas, male and female 1st/2nd stage recovery.
The scheme is currently being installed via individual mobile cranes, each suitable sized and sourced for the varying installation constraints. Internally the hygienic area walls are being constructed with a pre-finished steel product specifically formulated to help maintain a clean and safe environment; vital for the type of works that will be carried out within the new facility.
One of our main challenges when delivering modules to site is the restricted access. The building is situated within a courtyard with adjacent buildings on all four sides. In addition to this the access roads around the site are in constant use by the hospital staff and general public. The MTX site team worked closely with the Trust to ensure that existing service users are not affected by the works.
The project is currently on track planned to go into operation in early 2017.
