Macclesfield District General Hospital, Cheshire

In December 2007, MTX Contracts were awarded the contract for the refurbishment of Theatre 4 at Macclesfield District General Hospital. The project was carried out during the Christmas period and completed within three weeks.

The aim of the project was to update the operating theatre and make it conform to the latest standards HTM 02-01 and 03-01.

To achieve this, a number of equipment items were updated, including the ultra clean canopy, medical gas pendants together with additional medical gases and recessed light fittings.

Together with decoration and a new ceiling, the new state of the art equipment gave the theatre an updated modern look and feel, also making it comply with the latest standards.

Throughout the project, the operating theatre was sealed off from other clean areas to avoid contamination and minimise disruption to the surrounding clinical areas.
